Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems
or Nitrogen reducing systems...
Nitrogen released from cesspools and septic systems is affecting our precious eco-system on the Eastern End of Long Island. Toxic Algae blooms cause disruption to the shellfish industry and are responsible for beach closures. Conventional Septic Systems (i.e Septic tank and leaching pools) or cesspools do not treat the waste or solid matter in your system therefore resulting in concentrated nitrogen leaching into our groundwater and surrounding bays and oceans.
Innovative Alternative Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (I/A OWTS) or ‘Nitrogen Reducing Systems’ are designed to treat the waste that enters the system so that the effluent being discharged into the ground has a significant reduction in nitrogen. I/A systems are required when upgrading a Sanitary System or for new Construction in East Hampton Town & Village, Sag Harbor and certain areas of Southampton.
Quackenbush holds liquid waste endorsements to install Innovative Alternative Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (I/A OWTS) or ‘Nitrogen Reducing Systems’.
